Heat cauterization
What is thermal cauterization?
This is a treatment method that takes advantage of cancer's property of being "heat sensitive."
Using ultrasound as a guide, a very fine heated needle is delivered to the affected area of the cancer and heated. General anesthesia is not required. If the affected area is large, multiple needles are delivered. Next, a very small heater at the tip of the needle controls the temperature of the affected area at about 60 degrees for a certain period of time. This is a treatment that attacks the cancer by directly heating it, thermally denaturing it.
